Vancouver-based medtech company recognized for advancing mobility and independence through wearable smart orthosis technology.
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA. May 19, 2026 – Bionic Power Inc., a Canadian company developing smart orthotic technology, has been named to the Forbes Accessibility 200 List. The prestigious global list celebrates leading innovators and impact-makers advancing accessibility. The list highlights organizations whose products and technologies deliver broad, meaningful, and measurable impact across mobility, sensory, neurodivergent, digital, and experiential accessibility categories.
Bionic Power was recognized for its groundbreaking Agilik™ smart orthosis, a lower-body, custom orthotic device designed to help individuals with knee-extension-deficiency disorders including but not limited to cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, post-stroke hemiparesis, and polio survivors, Stand Taller and Walk Stronger™. The Agilik™ provides adaptive assistance and resistance during knee extension and flexion throughout the gait cycle, helping improve mobility and independence for children and adults worldwide. Approximately 50 percent of adolescents with cerebral palsy who can walk will lose that ability in early or middle adulthood — a trajectory Bionic Power is working to reverse. With adoption continuing to grow, users in ten countries are already relying on the technology to enhance their mobility and quality of life.
“It is an honour to be included on the Forbes Accessibility 200 List. It is a reflection of our continued commitment to the families we serve,” said Gualtiero Guadagni, CEO of Bionic Power. “We see this recognition as a powerful endorsement of the real-world outcomes we are delivering to patients, and of our mission to improve quality of life through innovative, clinically grounded mobility solutions.”
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Bionic Power has developed its technology platform over more than a decade of R&D in partnership with military organizations and the National Institutes of Health. The company is a participant in the MaRS and Toyota Mobility Foundation’s Mobility Unlimited Hub and has been supported through investment from benefactors including Hanger Ventures and Thuasne.
The Forbes Accessibility 200 highlights organizations across the private and public sectors advancing solutions that remove barriers and improve quality of life for people with disabilities around the world.
